Course Overview

Lean and Sustainability/Green thinking are embedded in different ways, have different implications, and occupy different areas inside the business world. The purpose of this course is to see both ways of thinking and, based on different frame of reference, understand its own attributes, borders, and terminologies, yet be able to leverage on one another and to create an blended approach, applying important concepts and methodologies combining the best of both worlds.

By applying Lean thinking to solve business environmental problems so as to coalesce on the improvement of the business supporting workflows with the high-level aim of achieving the continued process performance by reducing wastes and costs that impact the environmental at large.

This course will guide you on the how and where to start through understanding the pain points of the stakeholders. The only way going forward is the convince the stakeholders to embark onto the Go Green journey so as to develop new products or processes that cater to the rising socially responsible consumer trend.

  • Develop a value chain to map the work process.
  • Identify the pain points or gaps that maybe re-designed to meet the objectives of sustainability.
  • Prioritize where to start. And how to start.
  • Convince the stakeholders that this is the way to go.

  • For people new to sustainability and wanting to venture into the field. It can also be helpful for those who have been pursuing sustainability for some time but who have reached a plateau, wondering what else they can do.

Pre-Requisite

Mid to higher level corporate executives with a zest for learning new skills and able to participate in group discussion and therefore helped in generating new ideas

Duration

3 Days In-Person Classroom Training (24 Hours Including 60 Mins Assessment)

Certification

After the course, trainee who had fulfilled the course requirements of

  1. 75% class attendance and
  2. Attained a 80% competency for the assessment

Will receive a Certification of Achievement from Singapore Institute of Management (SIM).

About the Faculty

Ramesh Gangadhara Rao

Ramesh Rao holds bachelor’s degree in Engineering, MBA in finance & supply chain. He holds Diploma in Adult Continuous Education (DACE) & Advance Certification in Learning & Performance (ACLP) from SUSS Singapore. Additionally, Ramesh comes with multiple professional certifications in Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Design Thinking, Agile project management, Digital Transformation, Industry 4.0, Sustainability.

Ramesh has 30 years of career experience in corporate role and training and consulting. Ramesh has served in leadership role in process & operations management, product & service design, Industrial automation, operational excellence, and as global finance controller for US MNCs serving in multiple countries. As a consultant and trainer, Ramesh has conducted more than 2000 training and consulting in both public as well as in-house on multiple domains such as Lean Six Sigma, Design Thinking, Agile, Digital Transformation, Financial skills, change management, Data analytics, Sustainability, Smart factory solutions. Ramesh has served industries such as Manufacturing, Retail, Supply Chain, Banking, Financial Services, Education industry, government sectors, R&D & NGOs across Asia, Europe & USA.

As a DACE & ACLP certification holder, Ramesh has provided WSQ / SSG accredited training at NTUC LHUB, Singapore Management University (SMU) and Singapore Institute of Management (SIM).
